Import a Subscriber List

In addition to the contacts that are automatically added to your Subscriber List from your PodOps Podcast Website Subscribe Form, you can import lists of contacts. It’s important to ensure you have explicit consent from contacts before you send them email and/or SMS messages. You will be asked at the time of import if you have consent from your contacts. If you do not have consent for a contact, do not import them into your account.

In the PodOps Connect area of your account, click Subscribers in the left menu:

Here, you will see your Subscribers segmented into two distinct groups:

• Connect Subscribers: Contacts imported directly into your account
• Podcast Subscribers: Contacts that have subscribed through your PodOps podcast website

Click the ‘Import’ button in the upper right corner to open the import pop-up.

1. Recipient’s Status: Set the status of your recipients
   • Subscribed: This option is to opt contacts into communications
   • Unsubscribed: This option is to opt contacts out of communications
2. Tags: Set one or more tags. Tags are how you segment your contacts into multiple lists that will be used at the time of sending email and SMS messages
3. File: Select a CSV, XLS, or XLSX file to import your contacts. You must include a Name and Email header. Phone is an optional header and is only required when importing phone numbers.
4. Duplicates: Check the ‘Update duplicate records’ option if you’d like to update existing records during the import process if they already exist.
5. Import: Click Import to begin importing your file. This may take several minutes if the file is very large.

After successfully importing contacts, they will be visible on the screen, along with the imported information.

Email and SMS Opt In status is visible on the screen and can be edited under Action. This is helpful if someone directly asks you to opt them out of communications.
