Your Podcast. Your Platform. Use It!

Let’s be honest, you didn’t put in the time to record, edit, and launch a podcast for it to collect virtual dust. You want to make an impact, share your opinion, and connect with other people around the globe.

Here are some quick tips to get started and put your tools to work today!

Get Really Social

The first step to building your audience is to tell people about your podcast. The easiest way to do this is through social media.

Things to do with every episode:

  • Post to your social media accounts on release day
    • Use hashtags relevant to your episode and show in social posts
  • Promote your podcast website as a place to stay up-to-date
  • Make social share available on your podcast website (this helps with your reach)

Let People Subscribe

Social is your entry point for most listeners, unless they find your organically. Once you have them coming to your podcast website to enjoy your latest episode, be sure there is an easy way to subscribe.

Subscribing to your podcast, means that your new listener will be notified each time you drop a new episode. Making it much easier to drive repeat listeners.

If you are a PodOps Hosting user, you also have access to the contact information for subscribers. This gives you the ability to do outreach via email. What does that mean? We’re giving you an easy way to grow your email list for your newsletter, or other podcast marketing materials.

Stay Consistent

The easiest thing to do with a podcast is let it slip and miss a week, then a month, and the next thing you know your show is inactive.

Commit to recording your episodes and sticking to a release schedule. Ideally, go for one per week, but if that’s too intense, try bi-weekly or once per month and increase over time as you find your groove.
