Power of Networking & Why You Need To

It’s 2022, and after two years of avoiding people, we see in-person events come back in full force. While zoom was a needed solution for the last two years, networking isn’t the same over zoom as it is face-to-face. You can make a more significant impression in person, making the jump back into networking necessary. We are going to go over the top 3 reasons why networking should be something you focus on.

Build New Relationships

Building new relationships are essential. When you meet someone you never know what impact they will have in your life. Sometimes meeting one person can change everything for you. I have been very lucky to meet people that have been able to mentor me and help me when I’ve struggled both professionally and personally. Both of these areas are essential for us to grow and get better in life. In the podcast, space networking has really helped us get to know the space in a more intimate way so we can be better stewards of our mission to help other podcasters.

Generate Leads for your Business

Have you ever heard the phrase it’s not what you know, it’s who you know? This couldn’t be more true. The more people you have in your network that you make a genuine connection with the more likely they are to mention you to someone they know that is looking for your product or services. When you ask small business owners where they get their new business from, most of them say word of mouth. Don’t underestimate the value of a good relationship.

Collaborate on new ideas

This is possibly one of my favorite things to do. I believe that when you collaborate with others that’s when you get magic. What I mean by that is collaboration allows you to build on each other’s ideas getting you to the best final product. This is also a great way to practice humility and be open to other people’s ideas. This can really help you when you are working with your team.

Building a network takes time but plays a vital role in making connections that will help you throughout your career. You can make long life friends, find mentors and help others succeed. The great thing about building a network is that it happens over time and the sooner you start networking the sooner your circle will grow.
